I really enjoyed this book a lot i was a little skeptical to read it because normally when I read books that are mysteries or that are really popular they don't always live up to my expectations that was not the case with this book . I plowed through this book even though I tried to savor it ,its a light easy read that sucks you in from the beginning and makes you want to keep reading it keep me gasping and talking out loud to myself the way really good books tend to do . don't look at me like I'm crazy I know you book lovers do it to.
What the books about :We first meet Racheal on a train during her morning commute to work ,she takes the train into London and sits in her usual seat and stares out the window the houses she passes along the same route every day become her thing to watch as she rides the train. Sometimes the train stops at certain signals and it just so happens its stop close to her old neighborhood in front of a certain row of houses a particular house she likes to watch has this couple that is perfect for each other she always sees them when the train stops the woman sits on their terrace and sips her coffee or wine depending on the time of day it is and the man is strong and handsome looking ,and they seem so much in love she names them Jess and Jason and she imagines their life is perfect .One day as she riding the train and as it stops in front of their house she's sees something that will change her opinion of Jess and Jason and make her question the picture perfect life the couple portrays .Rachels life is far from perfect but when something happens that involves the police and jess she wonders if she should step in and try and help or just let it go ,to find out you have to read it for yourself :)
What I liked : I loved the matter a fact tone of this book I didn't feel as though there was a lot of pussy footing around to make the mystery more intriguing the book was what it was in a good way and I respected the author a lot for that. The characters as I know I always say were very well rounded but they really were ! I related to a lot of the characters physical and mental states the author really did research on anxiety alcoholism abuse and other social aspects of a person that plays into how a person behaves and ultimately the choices they make .I also liked the depth and flow of the story line . I try to be a big shot I always try to guess who done it and half way through I'm always say ha I knew it !well this time I admit I didn't know it and I was really happy and pleasantly surprised .Don't get me wrong now this isn't just a book that starts as a mystery and goes on from there this book builds a story and then you start to realize something else is going on and you want to find out what. I liked this book so much I could go on for hours. I suggest that if you want a large book to slowly enjoy and read this isn't the book for you ,if you want a book takes you on a whirl wind in a matter of days that you will love ! then this book is for you its impossible to savor and save and wait until later because you wont be able to put it down . I disliked nothing about this book .
